Forgetfulness or distractedness on a whole new level!!
Because…kids.
What I picture a mom brain looks like….

Mom brain. It is not myth or legend. It is REAL! I have it, and you might, too! Did you ever look for your phone…while talking on it? Mom brain. Did you ever repeat yourself, because you forgot you already said it? Mom brain. Did you ever put the milk in the cabinet? MOM BRAIN!

I’m telling ya, I’ve always been a little….”disorganized”. But since having kids, WOW! I can’t believe some of the things I’ve done. And I have to totally write things down, because I WILL forget.

Here’s one of my mom brain stories…

A couple weeks ago, the hubs and I went to pick the kids up from school, we get home, have dinner, blah blah blah. About 2 hours later, we go to leave to do some shopping. Hubs and kids go out to car, I’m looking for my keys. Can not find them. Hubs is in car pointing at steering wheel, I’m like “You have my keys?” So I go out to car, get in….I left the car running, THE WHOLE TIME!. I left the keys. In the ignition. For about 2 hours!!!! I never turned it off when we got home from school. What the hell is wrong with my head!!?? Mom brain.

So, I go back to reread this post and guess what…another mom brain story has been born.

We’ve been outside more lately because springtime, woo hoo! So, it’s the weekend, we have our garage door open so kids can go in and out, get bikes, sidewalk chalk, etc. Me and the kids take dog for a walk, hubs stays home, puts bikes and stuff away, leaves door open just in case kids still want to play outside. We go home, go in, snack, bedtime, yadda yadda. Next morn, hubs goes out to go somewhere, comes back in…you guessed it. Garage door still open….ALL NIGHT. Walked right by it the night before and never noticed it. Oh my cheese. We are so lucky nothing was stolen! And guess what, this isn’t the first time this has happened!! So, there ya go. Another mom brain incident….and many more to be had….

I’m telling ya. It’s a thing. Mom’s everywhere are leaving keys in freezers, forgetting to brush their hair, giving the dog coffee. Is it lack of sleep? I’m sure. Is it too many things going on in life? Heck yeah. Is it the kids are distracting us because we have to look at what they’re doing again, again and again? Uh, Yeah.

We are a sleep deprived, distracted, multi-tasking, reminder of the things. ALL the things. So, when our brain overloads, we tend to do mom brain things. It’s ok. You are not alone. We shall have mom brain together. Because unfortunately, there is no cure. It just eases up as we (and the kiddos) get older. Then “hello old fart brain!” And that’s a whole different story! I’m sure. I don’t know. I’m not there….yet.

How about you? Did you have a mom brain moment? Are you a momma that just can’t figure out how the laundry landed in the garbage? It’s ok, probably good ol’ mom brain taking over. Just take the laundry out of the garbage and rewash it. We won’t judge….

Until next time…

Mom Brain! We forget cuz we have to remember All. The. Things.
