A day in the life of my mom mind….

Mom Mind. A gazillion tabs open at once...because we are doer of ALL. THE THINGS.

(Written during the school year)

Beep Beep….Snooze…Don’t want to…ZZZZ. Beep Beep…snooze….Ok. Get up. GET UP. Ok, I’m up. Now how do I turn off the snooze on my phone again? Bathroom, shower, dress. 10 yr. old up? Good, she’s up. Coffee….mmmm good stuff. Check Facebook, sip coffee. 6 yr. old is now up. 6 yr. old non stop talk almost instantly. Please…sshhh…drinking my coffee. Check clock, still good on time Mom Mind. A gazillion tabs open at once...because we are doer of ALL. THE THINGS.before school.

6 yr. old eats breakfast. “I’m full” He’s always “full” after 2 bites. “Finish your breakfast”. Whine. Eats. Gets clothes. Bounces around living room. Takes off jammy pants. Swings them above head like lasso. Tries getting dressed while still hopping around. Takes another 5 minutes of craziness and distraction. Ok. He’s dressed. “Pick up your jammies. Put them in basket”. I say this pretty much everyday.

10 yr. old is downstairs. Morning routine done. Hair “brushed”. Meaning pulled back in poofy ponytail because she can’t get out all tangles. Brush again. “Did you…” …rattle off typical hygiene requirements. Pack lunch. Get school stuff ready. “Ok. Time to go”. 10 yr. old ready. 6 yr. old, not so much. Majorly distracted by…I don’t even know what…. “Come on. Coat and shoes.” Repeat a gajillion times until I roar like a lion. Blah blah. Talky talk. OMG. Child please. Shoes on. Minecraft talk. “Ok. Keep it moving”. Finally out the door. Drive 10 yr. old to school.

Home with 6 yr. old. Bouncing off walls. Seriously, he does not stop. “Can I watch Minecraft videos?”… Why do they like this so much!? “Yes!” Momma needs some quiet and stillness. Eat breakfast. Facebook while eating. Oh, look at that. Drama. That’s funny. Like. Share.Think about blog stuff. Is it ok to use that, share this on blog? Haven’t even started blog, Worried about proper credit given already.

Look at sink, dishes from last night. Ignore dishes. I should throw in some laundry. Ok, that’s done. Hug 6 yr. old just because. Dog needs to go out. Pay bills. Look at dishes. Nope. Not yet.

Look at calendar. Double check day, week. Soccer tonight. After school will be crazy. Crap. Thursday is the worst. Piano and 2 soccer practices. Sandwiches for dinner. When is 10 yr. olds gifted field trip? Chaperoning. Look at phone. Nothing. Crap. Need to buy birthday gift for this Saturday. What day is it at school? Look at meal list for meal tonight. Crap. Thaw burger. This is why I write things down….usually. Crap. Forget to buy something for said meal. Crap. I say crap alot.

I should vacuum. Wonder how so and so is doing? (Insert friend or family member). I should call/text. I have alot of crap hanging on my fridge. Should I have more coffee? 6 yr. old is hungry. Imagine that. “No, you can not have candy at 10 a.m.”. Did I pay the mortgage? Yes, I did. Turn off TV so 6 yr. olds brain doesn’t rot too much. He plays legos. I’m writing. Hope this blog does good.

Lunchtime. Feed 6 yr.old. He wants a snack lunch. Fine. Whatever. “Please eat. Lean over. Turn around.” Pretty much said at most meals. Finally done. Go wash hands. Soon time for school. Time to go. “Shoes. Coat”. He messes around. I finally have to yell. Seriously, I’m always yelling. Why? Please do as I ask the first time. Not the 5th time when I’m annoyed and then yell. First time. Puh-lease!

Drive 6 yr. old to school. Wait outside till he goes in. Chat with another mom. Our boys sound like the same kid. Crazy bouncers. Crazy energy. Crazy, crazy. Go home.

Let dog out. Guess I should eat lunch. Eat something. Look at dishes. Ok, do dishes. I should dust. Mom Mind. A gazillion tabs open at once...because we are doer of ALL. THE THINGS.

Remember laundry in washer. Crap. Put in dryer, start another load. Need to do meal planning. Same ol’ stuff. Make grocery list. Do we have any appointments this month. Check calendar. Double check phone calendar. Is hubs working late? Text hubs. Check time. Not school pick up yet.

Sit on couch. Check Facebook. Talk to dog because she’s so darn cute. Do I need to pay bills? Wonder what we’ll do this summer. Do some other housework chore. Check phone. I gotta stop checking phone so much.

Aaaand….Time for school pick up.Mom Mind. A gazillion tabs open at once...because we are doer of ALL. THE THINGS.

To Be Continued……

Because dang it my days are crazy and my mind is even crazier!! And this is all by 3:00 pm! What goes through your mind throughout the day? Is it just as crazy? Or maybe MORE crazy? (I’m so sorry!)

Until next time….

OMG so true. Totally a typical mama day. And I agree with previous comment that I would LOVE to see Daddy’s brain-day, just for comparison lol…
