Book Review! Summer Secrets by Jane Green
Genre- Women’s fiction
Summer secrets is the latest book I read. Cat has a wild party life in London, She, and her friends, like to drink. But Cat doesn’t know when to stop. Cat is an alcoholic. And of course, she has to hit rock bottom before she sobers up. She made plenty of mistakes and hurt people she cared about. Now she’s trying to make amends with the people she’s hurt and be there for her daughter, since she wasn’t in the past. This story takes you up and down. You’re like “Yay Cat! Then “NO Cat!??”. Will things turn around for Cat? Will she live happily ever after? Will she stay sober or will she be pushed to drink again? Read to find out. Jane Green did a great job making me think, “Oh, yeah. I know what’s gonna happen.” Then I’m like wait… what!? A nice read that kept me wanting to know what will happen to Cat. Hope you enjoy this book, if you choose to read it, too!
From goodreads.com– “Jane Green delivers her second blockbuster novel of 2015, a story of one woman struggling to right the wrongs of her past, with even more complications in the present.
June, 1998: At twenty seven, Catherine Coombs, also known as Cat, is struggling. She lives in London, works as a journalist, and parties hard. Her lunchtimes consist of several glasses of wine at the bar downstairs in the office, her evenings much the same, swigging the free booze and eating the free food at a different launch or party every night. When she discovers the identity of the father she never knew she had… June, 2014: Cat has finally come to the end of herself. She no longer drinks. She wants to make amends to those she has hurt. Her quest takes her to Nantucket, to the gorgeous summer community where the women she once called family still live. Despite her sins, will they welcome her again?”

November 3, 2017 at 11:12 pmThis just reminded me how long it’s been since I’ve done some good easy reading. So nice how getting lost in a character’s life makes you forget your own problems! I need some more of that. Looks like you’re a fan of Jane Green, will need to give her a try!
