How I unwind….

Whether you’re a stay at home mom or a working mom (or even dads, Anyone!), we all need to unwind. Life, in general, is stressful. Add kids into the mix, and Oy. Look out. New mom or help I have teens dad , and everything in between. Whatever phase you may be in, look for ways, and time, to relax.
School is a big life saver some days. When it’s drop off time, I’m practically dancing my kid to the door. Yes, I love my kiddos, but some days, ya just need a break. While they’re at school, I do typical housework, errands, etc. But on those “I can’t take it!” days…..this is my unwind list.
I’m a reader as I think I have mentioned before. So, if I’m into a good book, I’ll plop down with said book and lose myself for a little while, maybe with a good cup of coffee.
Oh TV. You keep me sane sometimes. Netflix is an excellent thing to have. Friends is my go to show right now. It makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it. So, I’ll squeeze in a few episodes while kids are learning all the things. And before bed, TVland is my bestest friend.
Music. I love it. Oldies, 90’s, The Piano Guys, whatev. Mix it up and turn it up. I listen in the shower, washing dishes, cleaning and in the car. Certain days/moods call for certain songs. But turn it up and sing along!! And work in a few of those old school dance moves. Running man, say what!?
Facebook. Sometimes mindless scrolling is what I need. A like here, a share there. Such drama. Keep scrolling. Look at that meme. Hee Hee Ha Ha.
Pinterest. Oh, if only I could do EVERYTHING I see and pin, instead of the 3 things I ACTUALLY do/use. But I could waste hours looking on Pinterest.
Writing. I have never written before, but since deciding to do this blog, the writing has been kind of soothing…once I find a blog post idea!!
Going for walks. I don’t do this often because ew exercise. But when I do, it’s nice. Taking in the scenery. Fresh air. Picking up dog poop….ok, that part sucks. But at least I pick up after my dog! Unlike some A-holes. (pet peeve). I do feel refreshed after a good walk. And when I’m able to walk with a friend, that makes it even better.
That’s my unwinding thangs.
Ok. Your turn. How do you unwind? Are you able to do it often? Try to make time just for you. Even if it’s 5 minutes in the bathroom alone.
By the way…kids + flashlights + dark bathroom = quiet time. Well….sorta. When the door’s closed. Try it. (not while you’re in there!) My kids discovered this on their own and I was like…Yessss. Stay in there…forever…..
Until next time…

June 12, 2017 at 12:14 pmIt’s funny to see that someone else scrolls Facebook to unwind too. I do like long walks and writing too. Do you type or use a pen and paper when you write?

June 12, 2017 at 12:19 pmThanks. Unfortunately Facebook can be a BIG time suck though! I thought I’d do pen & paper but started typing posts, then ended up preferring that. How about you?

June 12, 2017 at 1:55 pmListening to music, grabbing some paper and a pen to write down thoughts, ideas, etc. I love to read good books and I like to also listen to soundscapes or smooth jazz and spray some aromatherapy scents. Thanks for sharing!!
